Who We Are

This Franciscan Retreat House is built upon the ideals of the Gospel of Jesus Christ who founded the Holy Catholic Church.  It is also founded upon the charisms of St. Francis of Assisi. 

The Gospel, Jesus Christ and Francis of Assisi together converge upon the mission of our retreat house and its ministries.  St Francis Retreat House is a type of sacrament, an instrument of Christ in the Church which is to bring a message of salvation, the plan of God's love, to all of God's people.  (Cf.  Catechism of the Catholic Church, 776)

All the friars are to have among themselves a family spirit and mutual friendship.  They are to practice courtesy, cheerfulness and all other virtues  so as to bring about among themselves, and the People of God with whom they live and give witness, full human, Christian and religious maturity. (Art. 39—General Constitutions)
